5 Step Fitting Process

PLAYER INTERVIEW
The first step is the Player Interview, during which the clubfitter gets to know more about the player. Information on his or her playing goals, current playing strengths and weaknesses, tendencies, frequency of play, type of course played, and equipment type preferences, are some the vital information needed for the fitter to properly understand the players profile.

The interview process is essential to ensure that your goals are being met through each of the remaining steps.

STATIC FITTING
This is the process of measuring the player's physical characteristics. Height, Wrist-to-floor, and Palm size, are measurements that are taken to aid the clubfitter in determining preliminary dimensions of the golf clubs' length and grip size.

DYNAMIC FITTING
Players are then made to swing test clubs with various specifications. Swing speed and ball speed measurements, ball striking consistency, and the players comfort level are all considered in the process. This will allow the clubfitter to properly determine the golf clubs' total weight, swingweight, shaft weight, shaft flex, grip type, loft and lie settings, and clubhead design.

The dynamic fitting is the most important step in Clubfitting. A good clubfitter gathers most of the vital data needed in this step, for determining how to properly fit the player. It is in this step that a player can tell if he or she is dealing wih a truly qualified and certified clubfitter.

DESIGNING THE RIGHT SET OF EQUIPMENT
Determining the right set make up (type of clubs), clubhead design, and overall feel of the golf equipment is the final step of the fitting process. The clubfitter with the data he has gathered and the experience he has in clubfitting, together with the players' comfort and golf equipment preferences, will determine the right set of custom-fitted and custom-built golf clubs.

PLAYER'S PERFORMANCE FOLLOW UP
After the player has used his newly fitted golf equipment for a few rounds, it is very important for the clubfitter to check on the player's performance. At the same token, the player must inform the clubfitter on his or her performance with the new clubs. If necessary, the clubfitter and clubmaker can easily and readily adjust the equipment accordingly.
